Relationships
One of the best pieces of advice a close friend and business partner (shout out to Jason West) shared with me when Jaala and I got married was: be a student of your bride--always study your wife; pay attention to her; never stop learning while you love. And, of course, this same wisdom can be applied to wives in respect to your husbands. I can see how easily someone could say to themselves on the front end: "Finally, the wedding is over and all is well; I'm good now," then hit the cruise button... Or maybe later down the road: "We've been at this several years now; I know enough at this point to get by," and take their foot off the gas. But, it's not about just getting by. It's about growing. I've heard it said before that the drama is in the details. I believe you can only take note of the details when you're in the here and now, living in the moment. So, I'm learning: wherever you are, be all there. It's allowing me to be a better student in all areas of my life, not just my wife. But, make no mistake about it, one of my favorite classes is Jaala 101. :) Love you guys. Let's grow. JT
